Hobby Sunday 24/04/16- White Scars Scout Bikers

This week I have been working on completing my White Scars Scout Bikers for an upcoming tournament. I managed to complete the bikers and get them based up ready for the tabletop.

A few work in progress shots.

So with the tournament coming up on Saturday, I only have the bike-mounted Librarian to complete. If I don't get it done, I can always sub in my Ravenwing Librarian.

  1. Nice work! What colours are you using on the faces? I am experimenting with new ways for painting faces at the moment, because my latest project is a pain; way to much skin for my liking (not enough power armour).

  2. I got the faces from an old copy of White Dwarf on painting human flesh. I've always had a problem with it (it's one of the main reasons I did not start a catachan army when they first came out).

I use a base of Bugman's Glow, followed by a wash of Reikland Fleshshade. I then highlight with a drybrush of Cadian Fleshtone, followed by Kislev Flesh. I think it looks decent enough on the table. I don't try and put in extra detail as my painting isn't fine enough (neither are my brushes!).

  3. Dude. That was quick for something looking that good. Nicely done. And seconding the request for how you did the faces.

    1. Cheers WestRider! As for the faces, see my reply above to Marc. It's really simple, just a basecoat, wash and a couple of dry brushes for highlighting.
