Hobby Update 04/12/17- Genestealer Cult Patriarch

I recently completed another HQ unit for my Genestealer Cult army, the Patriarch. This is a really nice model and was actually pretty easy to paint up. 

I painted it up to match my Purestrain Genestealers, so that he would match them on the tabletop. Here are the WIP shots and the finished model.

    Lovely fleshy skin parts, really good rendition. I must get my GC to a playable force, just Hobby Butterfly Syndrome is preventing me from meaningful accomplishment of goals... still have plenty on the painting table atm occupying my time ;)

      I hoping to get my first game in with them this week. Need to borrow a Russ from my Guard army, but isn't that what the Cult do anyway?

    Oh I like that! The brain came out really well. The lighter highlights really make it pop. Did you edge highlight the carapace or drybrush? (bit of both?)

      A bit of both for the carapace. I gave it a basecoat of Kantor Blue, followed by a Nuln Oil wash. I then did a drybrush highlight of Alaitoc Blue, followed by an edge highlight of Hoeth Blue.
