New blog toys- Gaming mat and lighting

This week, I picked up a few more toys for my battle reports. The first is a gaming mat. This is an urban combat mat to match my cityfight ruins that I have been painting up in the last week.

I also picked up a couple of photography lights to help with the lighting on my battle reports. These should hopefully provide much better video battle reports in the future. I've got a game arranged for the weekend, where my Genestealer Cults will be taking on the Night Lords.

  1. Ahhh yesss, upgrade city! That is my favorite mat by far, as it has all the standard deployment zones built in!

    1. It is one of my favourites too. Looks really nice with the GW ruins on it too.

    1. They were actually pretty inexpensive, only about £30 for both. The quality seems pretty good too. I just need a bigger living room to fit everything around the board!

  3. The Sector Imperialis buildings look great on there. Nice to have a proper lighting rig, too. I can get decent pics when I put stuff in my light box, but trying to take pics during games is totally hit or miss.

    1. The light helps a lot in the flat. The games in the club are generally bright enough.

    2. Yeah, the friend's apartment and the store I most often play at are both kind of poorly lit.
