Collected here are the various posts for my Medusa IV map-based 40k campaign that I ran at the local gaming club. It is loosely based on the Planetary Empires expansion and details the fight over the Kharysian sector of the planet between rival alliances, each with their own secret objective to complete.

CAMPAIGN TURN 3
Battle Phase 1
The ever insidious threat of Chaos reared its ugly head as a new force seized position on the map. Their arrival heralded the loss of a significant portion of the Ork army to the North. Whether this was related was not for the understanding of mortal men (We welcomed a new player to the campaign who joined The Coming Darkness, while losing one of the Ork players at the same time).
Battle Phase 2
The players made their last moves for the year, their armies readying themselves for winter drawing in.
Battle Phase 2 Results and Campaign Update
New rules were introduced to allow players to purchase Campaign Stratagems with their resource points to give their armies small bonuses in games.

The fight for the Kharysian sector kicked off once again after the Christmas break.

The players had evidently been very busy during the break in the conflict, as a flurry of Manufactorums and other buildings were constructed at the start of turn 4.
Battle Phase 2
With three new players joining the campaign this turn, the map was starting to get full. Soon the conflict would spill over from the open territories to direct attacks on each base.

If you are interested in running your own version of the campaign, a blank map is provided below:
Do you have the initial 64 square version of the map still?
ReplyDeleteI have just added it to the end of the page above.
DeleteMuch appreciated. This looks like a blast, gonna try it out with my local group.
DeleteTotally gonna see if I can get my buddies to play, great work, is it still going on?
ReplyDeleteNo, it finished up a while back. It did run for almost a year though, so I was quite happy with how it went. I need to write a review of the campaign and any changes to be made.
DeleteOff the top of my head, I would recommend doubling the price of the buildings. I think some of them were too cheap and too powerful (the Manufactorum in particular).
nice. thanks 4 the rules
