Another hobby update this week, with the final set of ruins for my new cityfight board. For the final three pieces, I have a ruined tower, a large manufactorum building and a city fountain.
For the fountain, I am planning on adding some coloured resin to give a water-like effect for the fountain. I'm also planning to add some to one of the ruined factory building I had completed previously.
Looking great as ever. We had a similarly high tower at my former FLGS and I always knocked that one over. Good that you put a base under yours!
ReplyDeleteCheers! It definitely needs a base, as I kept knocking it over when it wasn't on one!
DeleteAnother nice installment. I particularly like the tower. Seems like that could be really cool in Kill Team-type games, with a Sniper or Heavy up near the top, requiring a careful approach to clear them out.
ReplyDeleteThe pond looks like it'll be cool, too. Playing around with water effects is always fun.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to trying out some water effects, as I've never used them before.
DeleteI really need to try and pick up Kill Team when the funds allow.
Great terrain progress, Mike. It's all coming out great. I love the fountain idea! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave, looking forward to getting a game with it this weekend.
DeleteLooking good as always. With the fountain, are you going for a big central water feature? Or add a broken fountain statue? I have a spare third party Emperor if you want one? Like this model: http://weemen.blogspot.com/2016/03/terrain-and-scenery-statue-of-emperor.html
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of adding a statue at one point to the collection. Been looking for some plaster cake stands to copy an old White Dwarf article, but they only seem to have plastic ones in the shops now.
DeleteThat statue in the link is very cool, would love to recreate something like that.
Sweet, I really like your terrain! Well done, and not only functional but great to look at. Nice terrain usually is the last step in creating an immersive bettefield imo. And usually hard to come by because most of us like to paint their armies first and even struggle with that :D
