It's been a while since I've posted one of these! (October last year to be exact). With the release of the Genestealer Cults codex, I picked up a number of new units to add to my force. These were mostly some of the new buffing characters that are available to the army.
This weekend, I finally got round to assembling the new units, ready for painting. First up, we have two of the new Clamavus models (Clamavuses, Clamavi?!?). These units provide some great buffs for the army, giving you +1 to charge and advance rolls in range, as well as a leadership bonus. Two of these should be a big boost to charging units, especially with the Cult of the Four-Armed Emperor Cult Creed.
Next up, we have a Sanctus. I wasn't aware that the kit came with the sniper rifle variant, as only the knife variant has been pictured so far, so I was happy to have the rifle, as I think this is the better option.
I also got an Abominant to give me another powerful combat character, as well as one that will buff nearby units of Aberrants.
The Nexos is a character that gives you the option of regaining command points when you or your opponent uses stratagems, so is a great boost for the army. I kept him separate from the base for ease of painting.
I also have a Jackal Alphus, who gives me another strong sniper character, as well as providing some other great buffs for the army.
Finally, I have a unit of Jackals, giving me some strong mobility in the army, as well as another source of Demolition charges for taking on heavy armour.
I hope to get these painted up on the next few weeks, as I think my army could really use the boosts that they provide.
Love the GSC stuff I have seen... really need to complete the other armies I have kicking around first!
ReplyDeleteLooking good though
Yeah, they are a great looking army. Still getting to grips with the new codex.
DeleteGood luck painting them up Mike!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ed! Already made a start on them at the weekend.
DeleteI think the Sanctus is great but what are you going to do with his little friend?
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, his little friend will be going with him. Just kept him off the base just now for ease of painting.
DeleteI will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy these minis, I will NOT buy....
ReplyDeleteSuccumb to the will of the four-armed Emperor. Only true happiness lies that way......
DeleteI look forward to seeing them painted up, and also to see how they do on the table. Being in the middle of moving right now, I kind of have to get my gaming in vicariously ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I'll try and keep the output up then, wouldn't want you to needlessly suffer. Good luck with the move!
DeleteLooking good buddy ! I have played against GSC a fair bit lately and they are a fun army to face, tough but take some finesse to use, its also a hell of a challenge facing them in the deployment phase as its all just blips !
