Hobby Update 04/07/19- Dark Angels Reviers

Another hobby update for my Dark Angels Primaris army, featuring a unit of Reivers. These models were from the Conquest magazine, and were the "easy to build" kits that are available for the Primaris Marines.

This squad provides some mobility for the army, their grav-chutes allowing them to deploy from reserve. This makes them useful for going after objectives or enemy units.

  1. Interesting choice to keep the green on the skull mask parts. Works better than I would have expected.

It really bugs me that the ETB Reivers don't have enough helmets for the whole Squad, and the full box doesn't have any extras. Would it have killed them to put a sixth helmet with Sergeant markings on the sprue?

    1. Thanks WestRider. I wasn't too keen on having metal faces for the Reivers, as per the GW models, so thought I would keep them green to match the armour. Quite pleased with how it turned out too.

    2. I thought they did them in bone, to drive home the skull imagery thing.

And seriously, I want so many of those helmets for conversion projects. CSM, Chaplains, trophy racks, all sorts of thing.

  2. Look great man. I really fancy these for my ultramarines but I still struggle to find a way to make them effective. Great at getting into combat - crap at actual fighting. For Ultra’s I think their best use is as a harassing unit with bolt carbines and batman grapnel launchers. Thoughts?

    1. I think Carbines are a solid option. It's just a shame the kit doesn't come with them. I think they could be useful for blocking overwatch, but you can't do it on the turn you arrive.

I like the grav chutes, as you are less restricted on where to deploy, but the grapels give you more mobility once on the table. I'm still testing them to see what is more effective.
