This week I managed to get some work done on my Ravenwing and White Scars armies.
The grav gun arms that I had previously undercoated were painted and attached to my Ravenwing bikers. The paint scheme on guns was kept simple, in line with my other bikers. The grav gun was given a drybrush of boltgun metal and then painted blood red.
I was also able to get some landspeeders painted this week. I had purchased these from ebay with the intention of using them for a Ravenwing support squadron. The speeders had to be undercoated in black to cover the existing paint jobs. I've never tried to strip paint from models before, its something I will need to try at one stage. I managed to get all three speeders painted in one night, once they are undercoated most of the work is already done. I just had to pick out the metal areas on the speeder and highlight the speeder.
The White Scars models were undercoated last week. This week I painted the armour on the devastators and assault marines, the hull of the new drop pod and finally got a start on the Land Raider Crusader and Stormraven. I also managed to spill most of a bottle of agrax earthshade, which gave my desk a lovely brown wash.
I just now need to get the weapons painted up and finish off the vehicles.
Nice progress! I always enjoy the wash phase. Makes things all gritty and ready for fun paints.
ReplyDeleteI just need to be more careful with it as I lost half a pot after knocking it over!
DeleteI almost lost a little bit more, even feared for my life when I spilled it on the couch...
DeleteYeah, I'm always afraid when I do some painting in the living room that I'll drop a pot on the carpet. Fortunately, my hobby room has a wooden floor, so it's easy enough to clean.
DeleteNice :) was thinking about getting a land speeder storm myself actually for deep strike defense!
ReplyDeleteIt was of some benefit against your army. Made you rethink a few of your drop pod placements. I really like them, very fast objective grabbers.
